Precautions
- The stoma is more swollen after the operation, and will gradually become smaller over time within 6 to 8 weeks. The cut of the opening needs to be adjusted according to the size of the stoma. If the hole is too large, the exposed skin will be infiltrated by excrement. If the hole is too small, it will cause friction and bleeding or poor blood circulation.
- It is better to change the stoma bag on an empty stomach or 4 hours after a meal.
- Please replace the ostomy appliance regularly. If there is leakage, please replace it immediately to avoid damage to the surrounding skin from contact with excrement.
