He focuses on the anesthesia for respiratory tracts, especially for respiratory difficulties, respiratory tract related surgery and difficult respiratory tract cases. Since respiratory diseases are life-threatening or might result in severe complications, Doctor Cheng undergoes life-threatening or severe case research. His abundant experience and performance in clinical treatment has distinguished himself from applications across many countries and was granted clinic research fellow at Harvard Medical School and conducted 1 year research at Brigham and Women’s hospital.

He is currently a Visiting Research Fellow at Weill Cornell Medicine, New York, where his research focuses on neural mechanisms of anesthesia and advanced brain monitoring technologies. His clinical interests include pediatric anesthesia, obstetric anesthesia and labor analgesia, difficult airway management, dental sedation, ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia, and perioperative pain management. He is actively involved in patient safety, healthcare quality improvement, and medical education. Dr. Hsu's research focuses on anesthesia depth monitoring, pediatric anesthesia, airway management, and perioperative medicine. He has published in peer-reviewed international journals and presented his work at national and international scientific meetings.
